“I think the difficulty with social media is you can’t have constructive conversations… If you want to make change, talk to people in real life, have a conversation with someone who disagrees slightly with you, understand where they’re coming from… That’s far more effective than social media when a lot of this stuff is virtue-signalling. People are really blind to the outcome they want to achieve… I don’t [intervene with trolling/online bullying]. I have friends in real life who I am emotionally responsible for supporting. I have myself who I am responsible for emotionally supporting. It’s not my fight, I don’t know any of these people, it’s not on my radar at all… I can have a cup of tea with a friend, that would get me further than trying to help fight people online.” – Male, 27, ACT - Aaron
