"Emotions of anger and protectiveness overwhelmed me."
My wife and I decided to get my daughters ears pierced and she was 4 months old… And I shared it on Facebook… then the comments turned nasty with words like "child abuse" and "torture" being used. At first I explained my position in that it was done in a professional setting, everything is clean and within hygienic standards… But that did not stop the negative comments from coming in. I genuinely felt upset by it all and emotions of anger, protectiveness overwhelmed me. And it was this situation that led me to become more private with my engagement online… I look at the online world now via news, social media and even comments from friends and family, and I can see that if anything that the negativity is still there. - Daniel
