It started at the peak of covid, there were all these antivaxxers and antivaccine protests going on… The amount of all these stupid posts I was seeing, it got me mad. I eventually built up the courage to actually say something to people and that kind of snowballed. I started fighting people who I felt were racist, or homophobic, or transphobic, and then it just kind of snowballed into me just arguing with people about anything I didn’t agree with… I think you can accidentally become a troll. You can start off with just another a person with another opinion online, but you can also turn into this really malicious troll that just wants to see the anger, and starts attacking people and the person’s appearance just to be able to say something that you know will hurt the other person… A few seconds after you send something online it’s funny or relieving. It just makes you feel good for a second, but I think after that’s over you’re in a worse position than you were before. - Gemma
