"I also later realised that they were 25 while I was 19 which made me feel really stupid and guilty."
When I was apart of a Netflix series fandom on Twitter 2 years ago I got in a heated argument with another member in the fandom about one of my favourite character's intentions. They made attacks on the character then proceeded to make assumptions about me for liking the said character. I got defensive and stooped to their level and said some regretful things. I also later realised that they were 15 while I was 19 which made me feel really stupid and guilty. It was the moment when other people started agreeing with my hurtful comments and I noticed how much more attention my tweets were getting than the person I was arguing with. It made me feel like I was ganging up on them. I cringe a lot at those moments because I said hurtful things to real people over fake people. I definitely avoid Twitter because of the constant drama and arguing.” - Janine
