"... you kind of feel like you've won the battle."
As soon as you hit that button, for a few seconds before the person has a chance to reply, you kind of feel like you’ve won the battle. It feels like you’ve got the last word in and you feel like you’re on a pedestal. But when that person retaliates, it’s just the same thing. It’s ‘Oh my god, I need to get back at them. Like, how dare they.’ So it’s very quick and it’s not long lasting at all. When you’ve got the last word in you think people are going to read this thread and they’re gonna see that what you said was the last thing… ‍You kind of feel powerful. And then you’re energised to then respond so you can stay on that pedestal. And you’re essentially fighting each other to stay on top and it escalates very quickly. - Lex
